Mariposa & 3rd

Here's the new light rail stop. It's actually pretty crazy to see stuff completed after being part of the community jobs program for years before grad school. There's been some news reports about dangerous gaps between the train and platform, but I didn't see any problems. The only thing off was that NextBus failed to detect our train when we were waiting, but the early arrival was a good surprise.

NextBus is not under contract with BART. The system that is used there is BART's own home grown next train arriving system. BART preferred it to the NextBus next train arriving system.

Actually, this is part of MUNI's new T line, continuing light rail service south past the Caltrain station to Vis Valley near the Daly City border, running down 3rd St. It is currently free and runs only on weekends during its testing phase but will become a regular line like the JKLMN soon. The service that tracks MUNI Metro is NextBus.
